Chocolate I Scream Smoothie

This smoothie is perfect for the end of the week when you really need a treat. Don’t do it! Don’t blow your healthy diet on a carton of frozen corn syrup sludge or non fat frozen yogurt which is not really non fat nor yogurt. Instead let’s whip up a super quick, 3 ingredient, chocolate I scream smoothie.

I Scream Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1.5-2 cups whipping cream, whole fat milk, coconut cream, or almond milk
  • 2-3 frozen bananas broken in pieces
  • 1-2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder depending on how dark you like
  • * optional add ins: 1 Tbsp maple syrup or raw honey, 1 Tbsp almond butter or peanut butter, even your probiotics or vitamins (if hiding from kids)

Instructions

  1. Toss everything into the blender, food processor, or use an immersion blender
  2. Blend away
  3. Serve in 4-6 ounce fancy glasses (this is a dessert remember)

I use this Blendtec Blender because I do a ton of cooking and this blender is a workhorse. I’ve made this in a food processor, and even just popped an immersion blender into a large glass.

Choose quality over quantity!

For the cream and chocolate, look for the best quality you can find; it can make or break your flavor. I used my favorite cocoa power by Rapunzel and organic cream by Clover.

We serve this in 6oz servings, it’s pure cream people, I promise it will be enough!

Super Tip: This smoothie makes a delicious “fudgesicle” when frozen. Just pop the leftover smoothie into your popsicle mold and place it in the freezer for a few hours.

All the neighborhood kids love these at our house, and I love how calm they remain afterwards. Instead of a sweet popsicle spiking their blood sugar, eating a dense, heavy, healthy fat slows down digestion and slows down the blood sugar spike. It’s a win win!
